The Scrap Bin: End of August
The Scrap Bin
End of August
It's hot out. I'm writing this a week before I'm sending it. But, yeah. I feel confident in typing, saving and sending the prediction that... it. is. hot. out. Because a true Southern California native knows that our summer doesn't really start until mid-August and doesn't really end until late December.
I got some relief earlier in the month by taking a daily swan dive into a large lake. How many more years of tip-toe-ing into bodies of water in extreme distress before I learn that a big, fat cannonball is always less painful and always more refreshing in basically every single way? ( !! METAPHOR ALERT !! )
Post vacation has been a sprint towards September as I prep for our fall classes in the new studio. Tables, chairs, peg board, and one big garage door open wide to let in all of the light. It's all very exciting.
One thing we're really excited about...
Never Say Dye Workshop Thursday, September 12
6:30-8:30 PM
Learn new dyeing techniques like Shibori and Batik or dip back old standby's with colorful swirls and hippie vibes in this MAJOR BARGAIN workshop. Bring your own piece to dye or have us supply it.
Meanwhile...
Next On Our Makes List: Now that it's Fall (shhh. yes it is.), I swear I'm going to finish knitting my Good Night Day Trefann Sweater before it's becomes summer again and I'm still staring longingly at it in my knitting basket as I am dripping sweat.
Adding to Our Stash: Tessuti Fabrics does pattern so well. I want to take this silk and make a Doen inspired dress that turns me into a Gold Rush Era supermodel who runs through a field of wheat with reckless abandon and can also run a farm like a bad ass.
Watching This: Bachelor in Paradise. And in this context, I'm talking TV, but let's go with full disclosure here and also include that I'm watching the drama that continues on all forms of media. Twitter. Instagram. All of it. I'm here for alllllll of it.
Listening to This: Mountain Man Sings John Denver.
Last Thing: Sign up for our fall classes! They're going to be so much fun.
