The Scrap Bin: End of July
The Scrap Bin
End of July
Woof. Summertime, amiright?
Dinners al fresco
The sliver of sunburn between your arm and your bathing suit strap
Gloomy mornings that feel like a deep breath out
Weeks that feel impossibly full
Collectively thinking to ourselves "this weather is perfect"
Visitors from out of town
Weekend travel bags. Did anyone bring a deck of cards?
I could lay on this grass forever
And then it's August. And I'm suddenly craving a sweater. But more on that later.
For now, I'm consumed with thinking about Fall in our new space. More classes. More space. More learning. Big risks. Big swings. Making sure the chairs are going to be super comfortable.
Speaking of classes, we've been counting down our Fall schedule all week on instagram and having a lot of fun doing it. TECHNICALLY, the big reveal is on Monday. But, between you and me, those who follow along on the newsletters of small businesses deserve a little extra love. If you're reading this, it means you're one of those people. Which means you're in the club. And if you're in the club, you get perks.
Look! Here comes one now! Perk: Use discount code 'EARLYBIRD' for 10% off all Fall class registration until Monday.
This is definitely not a link to our Fall Schedule. Nope. Definitely not.
All will be starting in September at our new location !!!
We've got Kids Classes !
We've got Adult Classes !
We've got Workshops !
Meanwhile...
Next On Our Makes List: Peppermint Magazine's Peppermint Spring Shorts (especially these from @lameldelasolana). Getting rid of every single pair of shorts that I owned but I hated wearing was a great call in terms of body positivity. However, in terms of it's-really-hot-and-wearing-jeans-sounds-like-a-slow-painful-death... maybe not my smartest move.
Adding to Our Stash: My sister was in town this month and cashed in on the YEARS of "Good for One Free Dress from Your Amazing Sister" Gift Certificates that I have gifted her with for the last 10 years. So technically, is adding beautiful blue linens to her stash the same as adding them to mine? Yes. What I will say is that any new addition, along with allllll of my existing stash, is uniformly folded in organizational bliss, thanks to True Bias' fabric folding tutorial. Never going back.
Watching This: Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. I love them all so much. 1 part celebrity interview. 1 part stand up. 1 part eavesdropping. All darting around NYC in cool cars. I've watched them all. Twice. I love.
Listening to This: The Clearing (podcast). I haven't started it yet, but recommendations from pals and the intro trailer sold me. Plot: That awkward moment when you are pretty sure your dad is a murderer. Say no more.
Last Thing: Fall classes. You know the drill. We're going to have so much fun.
